Alpha Sessions Welcomes More Rising Music Stars

Radio Brockley’s “new music” show, the Alpha Sessions has had another busy couple of months with more amazing new acts coming through the doors to talk about their music and perform live acoustic sets.

The show, hosted by Emma and Alan Joyce, plays out on Radio Brockley on Friday evenings at 8pm and on Sundays at 6pm. However you can also listen to and watch their interviews and live sessions via the show’s YouTube channel, which has now had over 6,100 views.

Here are the artists who have been to the Radio Brockley studios over the last few months:

ROISIN O’HAGAN
20-year-old Roisin is based in Essex and released her first EP in February 2017. Roisin  spent her teenage years recording and performing on the local music scene, gaining attention and making connections within the circuit. She’s recently released her new single “Drive”. KATIE KITTERMASTER
Katie is only 17 years old but has already been making waves in the industry, with plays across the BBC and a track of hers featured on “This Morning”. Later this year she will be sharing the stage with Jools Holland. Catch her session with Emma here:

SASKIA
Saskia Griffiths-Moore is a contemporary folk singer, blending simple acoustic songs with modern moods, melodies and meanings, and has been performing full time on the folk and acoustic circuit for three years. Catch her interview and live session here:

DANNY McMAHON
Danny is from Bristol and has been a writer for other artists for many years and has even supported Westlife on tour! In 2017 he attended the Country2Country music festival and decided he wanted to write for himself. You can watch his interview and live session here:

EMMA AND THE SOUND
Emma grew up surrounded by music as her dad is Jimmy Winston from the Small Faces! She is a singer-songwriter who says that writing music is like sculpting a piece of art. She is a storyteller connecting to her audience touching on themes of tragic romance, politics, world oppression, human desire with a twist of surrealism.  You can listen to her interview with Alan here:

REBECCA RIEDTMANN
Rebecca has guested and played live on radio shows, performed on BBC 1, written in collaboration with a wealth of successful artists, and played venues across the country and internationally. She is our guest this Sunday on the Alpha Sessions. The session will be available online soon!
