Brand New Programme Schedule Launches 1st July

Radio Brockley will be launching a brand new programme schedule from Sunday 1st July, including some brand new shows. One of the big new additions will be a brand new programme called “Mending Minds”, which will be the first show to address mental health issues. Presented by Sharon Keaney from The Disability Foundation, she will be looking at topics such as Anxiety, Self Confidence, Pain and Healing, Positivity and Sleep. The shows will also be made available online and will included a “guided visualisation”. You can find out more about The Disability Foundation (TDF) and the great work they do at their website: http://www.tdf.org.uk/

Other new additions to the schedule include a brand new 50’s show, hosted by Radio Tyneside’s Dave Nicholson MBE, which will be on five days a week at 9am. Radio Brockley veteran Barry Raynaud will get a new weekday afternoon slot five days a week. There will also be new “noughties” and “2010s”.

Programmer Alan Joyce says “these are exciting changes to the UK’s Gold award-winning station as we introduce a new service to our patients with mental health support. We’re also introducing more speech and voiced programmes than ever before, and we’re acknowledging that the demand for 30s and 40s music is decreasing, but we are still offering some of that in Barry’s excellent shows. However we’ll be increasing the amount of 70s and 80s music played which is being reflected in our requests.”
