New Schedule Starts on Radio Brockley

Radio Brockley is launching a new programme schedule this week (starting Monday 6th July) which includes three brand new additions to London’s longest-running hospital radio station.

A big new addition to the schedules is Let’s Get Together, hosted by Norman Ross, which will be on air Monday to Friday afternoons at 2pm. Norman was a founder member of Hospital Radio in Glasgow and Paisley in 1969. In 1973 he joined the original team at Radio Clyde 261 as a evening producer  then as a presenter of the Saturday Breakfast Show and Visiting time on a Sunday with a audience of 360,000 listeners. Retiring in 2012 he returned to Hospital Radio and built a home studio. This programme is a spotlight on an artist or group, playing 15 of their popular songs and including a biographical look at their career.

In The Drawing Room is a new light classical programme which will be on air every Monday evening from 8pm with Ken Anton. Ken has been a hospital radio volunteer since 1976, originally with Bridge FM in Dundee, and is currently a committee member of Northern Air hospital radio in Manchester.  The programme features an hour of light classical and chamber music for relaxing and enjoying.  Ken has an eclectic musical taste and counts chamber music among his favourites.

Meanwhile Live Wire comes to weekend breakfast from next weekend. The magazine style programme will be on Radio Brockley on Saturday and Sunday mornings, with reporters Ling Pang (pictured top), Jason Moyle and Phil Richards. The show features celebrity – personality interviews in addition talk, new music, life style, special guests, book reviews and more. The show is syndicated on FM, DAB, AM and Digital radio stations across the United Kingdom and Europe.

In other changes to the Radio Brockley schedules, Brockley News Extra moves from weekdays at midday to a new regular weekday slot at 6pm. The Sunday evening programme remains at 7pm for a full hour during the absence of Bedside Bingo. There’s another chance to hear Chris Country Weekly on Monday afternoons at 4pm, whilst Barry’s Variety Mix has a new home on Friday evenings at 9pm and Sunday afternoons at 2pm.
