Radio Brockley Secures Three Nominations in 2021 HBA Awards

The nominations have been announced for the 2021 Hospital Broadcasting Association awards, and Radio Brockley has been nominated in the Top 10 in three categories, including the prestigious “Station Of The Year” category.

Radio Brockley won the top Gold award for UK “Station Of The Year” in the 2020 awards – winning the top prize for the third time in five years (previously 2016 and 2018). The station has been shortlisted for “Station Of The Year” for every year since 2013 – that’s nine years in a row – finishing in the Top 3 no less than six times.

Trustee Rebecca Lewis, who joined the station just over a year ago, has been nominated for two awards – for “Best Newcomer” and “Best Female Presenter”. Rebecca has been heard on shows including “That Was The Year That Was” and “Brockley News”, as well as producing her own podcast with her mum during the first lockdown.

On hearing about her nominations, she said “I am really honoured to have been shortlisted. I had no idea Radio Brockley would become so important to me, and I’m so grateful to all the members who have supported and guided me. Here’s to many more years of volunteering at Radio Brockley and working alongside such an incredible team”.
