Rebecca Lewis Wins National Presenter Award

Radio Brockley trustee Rebecca Lewis won a bronze award at the national Hospital Broadcasting Association (HBA) awards for the Best Female Presenter category in her first full year at the station.

The national awards, which were held online again this year due to Covid-19, are the biggest night of the year for hospital radio recognition, and Radio Brockley was once again nominated in three categories.

Rebecca Lewis was also nominated in the Best Newcomer Category, whilst Radio Brockley secured yet another nomination for the top prize of Station of the Year. Asked about her award win she said “I was blown away when I was nominated for two awards, but to receive bronze for Best Female Presenter truly has been a highlight of my year. I feel so lucky to be a part of Radio Brockley; if it weren’t for all the amazing members showing me the ropes when I joined last year, I would not have realised just how much hospital radio means to me”.

The winner of the top prize this year went to our near neighbours at Radio Harrow, who picked up the Gold award for Station of the Year. Hospital Radio Chelmsford had an excellent night, picking up three awards including Gold for Best Station Promotion. And Winchester Radio picked up two top awards. Mark Oldfield at Harrogate Hospital Radio picked up the prestigious John Witney award for outstanding service.
