George Michael Tops March 2019 Request Chart
George Michael has become our surprise new number one artist on the Radio Brockley request chart. The artist, who last year reached his highest ever position of number 11 on our annual chart over a year after his death, has topped our monthly chart for the first time. February’s most requested artist, Queen slipped one place to number two whilst Ed Sheeran climbed back up six places to number three. Phil Collins and the Eagles completed an unusual Top 5.
The most popular songs of the month were “Galway Girl” by Ed Sheeran and “Shotgun” by George Ezra, who as an artist has so far under-performed on the request chart. Maybe 2019 will be his year. Songs by Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper and David Guetta also made the Top 10 in a more modern chart than we have seen for some time.
Here are March’s most requested artists:
1) (-) George Michael
2) (1) Queen
3) (9) Ed Sheeran
4) (-) Phil Collins
5) (-) Eagles
6) (-) Patsy Cline
7) (2) Elvis Presley
8) (20) AC/DC
9) (-) George Ezra
10)(-) David Guetta
