New Schedule Launches in November
Radio Brockley is changing it’s Sunday and Thursday programme schedule from November, as the station continues to respond to the enforced changes caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
It means that for the first time in the station’s history, the regular Sunday request show will move from its evening slot to an afternoon slot – being broadcast at 2pm every Sunday. During the last few months, the show was off air for a time, and then was sometimes pre-recorded in the afternoons for broadcast in the evenings. The new slot will have less competition from peak-time TV shows such as Strictly Come Dancing.
Brockley News at 7pm continues to be an extended hour-long slot, in the continued absence of Bedside Bingo.
Other changes on Sundays will include Barry’s Variety Mix moving to a new slot at midday, Sophie Horrocks’s “Bedside Broadway” moves to a new evening slot at 8pm, in place of the old requests slot, and Garry Carter’s “From The Vaults” occupies a new evening slot at 9pm.
On Thursday evenings, a new programme called “Mixes”, hosted by Caroline Keating, will be on air at 8pm. It features tracks from a featured artist, expertly mixed together. The show will then be followed by the Classic Request Show, featuring tracks which have been request favourites over the years on Radio Brockley.
It sadly brings an end, for the time being at least, to the 28-year run of the Thursday Live programme – the station’s longest-running weekday show ever.
