Radio Brockley Nominated for Five Awards at 2019 HBA Awards

Radio Brockley celebrated the new year by being nominated for FIVE awards at the 2019 Hospital Broadcasting Association (HBA) awards, which will this year be held in Stoke-on-Trent. It’s the station’s most ever nominations at this stage, and includes a nomination for the prestigious “Station Of The Year”, for which we won Gold in 2018 and have been nominated for the 7th year in a row.
Thursday night member Kate Beatty has scooped an individual nomination for “Best Newcomer”, whilst the Alpha Sessions 10 music event from last October has picked up a nomination for “Best Special Event”.
The other two nominations were for “Best Speech Package” for our coverage of the UCL Open Day at the RNOH, and finally there was also a nomination for “On The Mend” in the “Best Promo” category.
A big thanks to the team of editors who put these packages together – Daniel Edward, Ron Laver, Keith Reeve and Alan Joyce.
The results will be announced at the gala awards event in Stoke-On-Trent on Saturday 30th March. Fingers crossed for another successful evening.
