Radio Brockley wins “Station Of The Year” Gold for 2018
Radio Brockley has won the top award in hospital radio, being crowned “Station Of The Year” for 2018 at the national Hospital Broadcasting Association (HBA) awards, which took place in Windsor on 24th March.
It was the second time that Radio Brockley has picked up the top award, having won it in 2016. It means the station has now finished in the UK’s top three for five years in a row following a bronze in 2014, silver in 2015, gold in 2016, and silver in 2017.
Five Radio Brockley volunteers were at the awards ceremony, and were presented with the trophy by the national lottery’s “Voice Of The Balls”, Alan Dedicoat. Of the winning entry, the judges said “Brockley nudged ahead because there were simply no weak links. The coverage of hospital events was very well presented. As an award entry, this entry perfectly showcased the work of a loyal and dedicated team. Again, a diverse range of shows were presented but the stations overall quality was greater than the sum of its parts. A truly great hospital radio station at the top of its game”
