Remmy Williams in Battle for Most Request Artist of 2022
Remmy Williams may be a new name to most of you in the music scene, but she stormed into last year’s annual request chart thanks to numerous requests for the artist, who happens to be the sister of one of the staff members working in The Stanmore Building at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.
She entered last year’s annual countdown at Number 24, but since then a campaign has been underway from staff and patients to get her to the top of our annual chart, and at the mid-year stage of the request chart she is potentially looking on course to do just that!
Other artists leading the charge this year are the usual favourites – Abba, Queen, Ed Sheeran and The Beatles. However, they may all have to make way for Remmy Williams on our chart – based only on the songs and artists requested by patients and staff at the RNOH.
Remmy could also score a chart double, as two of her songs – “Fiesta” and “Africa” are among the challengers for the top song of the year. Also in the running are “My Way” by Frank Sinatra, which has STILL never topped our annual chart, and the recent UK Number One from Kate Bush “Running Up That Hill”, which was first released the year the request chart started back in 1985.
