RNOH launches “On The Mend” campaign
The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital has launched a new campaign called “On The Mend”, which is designed to help patients speed up the recovery process by keeping active after surgery.
Many patients feel anxious about leaving their beds for the first time after surgery, but staying in bed for too long afterwards can slow the recovery time down and increase the risk of post-operative complications. The RNOH staff are looking to assist patients with their recovery by giving advice on
Medicines
Exercises
Nutrition
Daily living activities
Radio Brockley’s reporter Kate Beatty spoke to RNOH Pharmacist Jalak Shukla, Physiotherapist Fiona Thorne, Nurse Nikki Secan and Occupational Therapist Deborah Abson about the campaign and it’s benefits. You can listen to the interviews from our Brockley News show here: https://youtu.be/ftaLo-WQ4s0
