Elvis Named All-Time Most Requested Artist

Elvis Presley was announced as our most requested artist of all time by patients of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. As the request chart celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, original host Keith Reeve and current host Alan Joyce counted down the most requested artists of the last 40 years.

Elvis has topped our annual chart on three occasions, in 2005, 2018 and 2019 – and has bene on our request chart for 36 of the 40 years. He’s been in our annual Top 5 for the last nine consecutive years.

Queen were narrowly beaten into second place in our all-time chart – having topped our chart in 1992, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023. They haven’t missed our annual Top 20 for the last 35 years!

Frank Sinatra finished in third place, having been our chart topper in 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007.

The Beatles were the highest placing act who have never topped our annual chart – having never been higher than Number 3 (in 2008 and 2010). They finished fourth in our all-time countdown.

Robbie Williams finished at No.9, but if you include his work with Take That! he would have finished as high as No.4 overall. Take That! finished in 20th place.

Whitney Houston was the highest placed female act at Number 11.
