Former Members Reunite for 60th Broadcast Weekend

Radio Brockley had three very special days of live broadcasts from 2nd to 4th October as members past and present reunited to present some special shows to celebrate 60 years of London’s longest-running independent radio station, and London’s longest-running hospital radio.

On Friday 2nd October, founder member Barry Cobden presented a special programme at the exact time 60 years after he helped launch the station. A number of guests from the hospital also joined to share their support including the Volunteer Services team, Senior Play Specialist Zoe Keates (herself celebrating her 20th anniversary at the RNOH on the same day), and the hospital chaplain Father Paul Reece.

A number of celebrities also sent over special messages of congratulations including Neighbours actor Alan Fletcher, radio legends David “Diddy” Hamilton and Graham Dene, singer Paul Carrack, authors Joe Craig and Anthony Horowitz, and TV legend Sir Stephen Fry.
