HBA Awards Ceremony and Conference for 2020 Cancelled
The Hospital Broadcasting Association (HBA) has decided to cancel its Annual Conference which was due to run in Bolton from Friday 27th March to Sunday 29th March, including the National Hospital Radio Awards ceremony, due to Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The decision comes following the cancellation of virtually all mass gatherings over the next couple of months, and the HBA were keen to ensure the safety of their delegates and volunteers, especially give that members visit and volunteer on NHS hospital sites across the UK.
Trustee of the HBA Grant Naughton says “this is not a decision that HBA’s Trustees have taken lightly, but has been taken consciously and carefully based on information and advice available. The decision has a financial impact on HBA; however, as an organisation, we feel this is the right decision based on the current circumstances”.
The event at the Holiday Inn in Bolton will therefore now take place in 2021, from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st March 2021.
The winners of this year’s HBA Awards will be announced via a webcast on the HBA website over the next few days, and we will post the results when we get them. Good luck to everyone who submitted an entry for the awards.
