Queen Confirmed as Most Request Artist for 2021

Queen have topped our annual request chart for a second year in a row, being confirmed as the most requested artist of 2021 by patients and staff at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. In a year which was again affected by Covid, we still played 1,500 requests in 2021, and Queen finished ahead of the pack ahead, topping our annual chart for the third time in total (1992, 2020 and 2021). They have been on our annual chart every year since 1990, and have never missed our Top 20 in that time.

Ed Sheeran finished in second place, climbing up 13 places from last year following the release of his new album last year. He topped our chart in 2015 and 2017.

Elvis Presley fell one place to number three, having clocked up 33 years in our annual chart!

Abba and Bob Marley rounded off our annual Top 5, with Bob Marley achieving his highest ever position on our artists chart.

Tina Turner achieved her highest ever position of number seven, whilst the Rolling Stones and Electric Light Orchestra both matched their best ever positions (12 and 20 respectively).

Whilst the big story was at number 24 where an artist by the name of Remmy Williams entered the chart for the first time. She is a relative of one of the receptionists in The Stanmore Building, and was the year’s only new entry – being sandwiched between Westlife and David Bowie!
