More Great Music Guests Appear on Alpha Sessions
Radio Brockley’s “new music” show, the Alpha Sessions continues to welcome more amazing artists to the studio. The show’s YouTube channel has had over 13,300 views, and selected sessions are now also available to download via podcast at all the leading podcast sites.
The programme, hosted by Emma and Alan Joyce, plays out on Radio Brockley on Friday evenings at 8pm and on Sundays at 6pm. Together with Ron Laver, they have put together around 150 sessions since the show first started back in 2008. The new decade promises many more great sessions, with guests already lined up until the spring / summer.
A big thanks to all of the artists who give up their time to support Radio Brockley. Here are some of our latest guests:
Bailey Tomkinson is a singer song-writer from St Ives in Cornwall. She has been compared to the likes of Taylor Swift and Emmylou Harris, and has received support from Brad Paisley on Radio 2. Her last three singles made No.2 on the iTunes country music chart, and she will soon be playing a headline gig at the O2 Academy in Islington.
21 year old Sarah Gargano comes all the way from New York, but has spent a few months in London studying. She released her EP “Paper Girl” in 2018 and has a second EP on the way soon. Her storytelling in her songs has caught the attention of critics, who have made comparisons with Ingrid Michaelson and Kate Nash.
Joe Turone is a Hertfordshire based musician and producer, who has previously been in bands which have supported the likes of Bob Geldof! He made his mark as a solo artist in 2018 with the release of his album “Getting By”, and has been working on new material for a second full-length project.
Becky Lawrence is based in Bath, and has a background in musical theatre. She released her first EP in 2017, but recently released a new single, “Now” and is tipped for big things in the county music scene. She also has her own podcast series which tackles mental health issues.
Meg Lawrenson is a singer-songwriter who grew up in Southampton and is now based in Brighton. She has been described as “an exciting new pop-country artist to look out for!” by Meghann Loney of Wildwood Kin, and following recent appearances on BBC Radio Kent and BBC Radio Oxford, she looks set for a bright 2020!
Charlotte Kaye is a talented singer-songwriter from London. A self- taught pianist, she has been singing, writing and performing since an early age and has a degree in Songwriting. Since her previous appearance on Alpha Sessions in 2017, her music has taken an exciting new direction, and is anything but “Predictable”, the title of her last single.
Recording this Thursday 9th January.
